VICTORIA DUNBAR - Sep 22, 2007
Hi! I just got a hold of your PDF of your workbook for the American History Study Guide. I downloaded and read it and everything seems OK but I had a few questions. My teacher says that this guide is supposed to be used with the Study Guide, not to be used on it's own. First of all, I think that is odd. Secondly, the answers are way out of sequence. The MCQs ask more questions than the traditional multiple choice. It's like the teacher and MCQ's are trying to make a test for it's own. I found it a little hard to read (the type) since I have trouble reading long texts in black and white. Also, most of the questions ask for "comprehension". I did not find a whole lot of comprehension to be the best way to do a study guide. It's a lot of guessing and usually not a whole lot of information is given to base the answer off of. I don't understand how you expect someone to remember the dates (especially with the answers in the wrong order) since they don't always have the right dates. I'm not trying to be rude, but it seems like the book would be better used in a class with less emphasis on the MCQ's. Overall, I thought it was a bit of a scam and the MCQ's are hard to understand. Also, the questions are way out of sequence. I think this is the same for the rest of the book (for instance, MCQ 13 is the second to last question. The questions and answer should flow in sequence. That's just my opinion. I hope you don't mind me critiquing your work, but I just wanted to say that I'm not happy with the product and am returning it. Thanks for the PDF. I hope your publisher is more understanding than I was.
I apologize for the delay in getting back to you, Victoria. I hadn't seen your comment before this morning, when I posted my comment. I be359ba680
